Star athletes as well as leaders in policing, business and entertainment come together for Merry Go Round Children's Foundation's annual fundraising event: the Sports Mixer. For the past 7 years, the event has been held late winter/early spring at the Hockey Hall of Fame. This year's 7th Annual Celebrity Sports Mixer raised more than $225,000 (net) for Merry Go Round Children's Foundation's Kids, Cops & Computers program. Melissa Grelo and Paul Hendrick hosted the evening. Leafs' legend Johnny Bower, as well as NHL'ers Dion Phaneuf and Brian Burke also attended the event, which was deemed to be most successful event yet! Thank you to all our corporate sponsors, Champions and Players supporters, Toronto Police Service officers, volunteers, celebrities, and all those who purchased tickets. Your support not only makes the evening a reality, but it also affords us the opportunity to put new computers and Internet access in the homes of financially disadvantaged youth who have been identified by their teachers as having high learning potential. Once the Grade 7 students are on the Program, they are mentored by a Toronto Police officer "eBuddy".
