Ashley Juchawski was selected for the Kids, Cops & Computers program thirteen years ago. She was first introduced to the Program in Grade 7, when she was provided with a brand-new computer, printer and Internet connection at her home to use for school work.
Coming from a single-parent home, Ashley saw the daily struggles her mom would go through and wanted to make a positive change. "Seeing my mom struggle, I always thought I want to make a difference. I want to work hard. I want to be successful."
And Ashley was. She reigned triumphant against the many obstacles that came her way and is now in her graduating semester of law school in the United States where she is ready to work in the corporate field of International Law.
Ashley credits the program for her continued academic success at the University of Toronto and in her post-graduate degrees by having the best resources available, thus making the possibilities limitless!
Today, Ashley is still involved with the program by speaking at our Inspiration ceremonies, personally visiting the schools, and is now the Alumni President for the Merry Go Round Children's Foundation (MGR).
We are delighted to have Ashley fill this role as she shares many of the same experiences as other Kids, Cops & Computers participants.
In her role, Ashley hopes to reach out to other students who, like herself, have received support from MGR and have since graduated from high-school and gone on to do great things.
As Alumni President, Ashley will be a spokesperson for MGR graduates. She will be a catalyst “to rally alumni and motivate them to carry the MGR torch in spreading awareness of our past, present, and future accomplishments."
